years of HISTORY
The Schoolrooms
Built in 1874. Reimagined in 2011.
The Schoolrooms began life as the village school for Low Bradfield and the surrounding valleys, educating local children until its doors closed in 1985.
Years later, the building was carefully restored - not simply preserved, but thoughtfully brought back to life, reopening in 2011 as The Schoolrooms Café & Kitchen, once again becoming a place where people gather.
In 2023, a major renovation expanded the venue further. The former adjoining house was redesigned and connected to the original cafe, creating Assembly, our bar and bistro. This transformation allowed the building to evolve from a daytime café into a venue that now moves seamlessly from morning coffee to candlelit evenings.
Today, The Schoolrooms remains a place to come together - for walkers starting their day in the Peaks, for long lunches that stretch into the afternoon, and for evenings that deserve something a little more special.
The history remains in the walls, but the experience has moved on.
