Afternoon Tea is a Great British tradition that dates back to the 1840s. A British Duchess introduced the idea as she would often become hungry around 4pm so, she asked for a tray of tea, sandwiches and cake to be brought to her room. Her afternoon cravings soon became a fashionable social event and friends started to join in. We just love an excuse to eat cake!
